Sliema Wanderers have continued their busy transfer window with the signing of Brazilian winger Fernandinho, a former standout at Floriana and Marsaxlokk.
The 30-year-old was one of the top foreign performers in the Maltese Premier League last season while playing for Floriana. With other key signings like Luke Montebello and Roko Prša, Fernandinho is seen as a major addition to Sliema’s ambitions for the new campaign.
Fernandinho’s Maltese football journey began in 2020 with Żejtun Corinthians, before moving abroad. He went on to play for TRAU FC in India, and PSIS Semarang in Indonesia, showcasing his talent across Asia before returning to Malta in 2023 with Marsaxlokk, and later Floriana in early 2024.
With his experience and quality, Fernandinho is expected to play a central role in Sliema’s midfield as the club looks to challenge at the top end of the table once again.
