Tonight at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Floriana and Ħamrun Spartans meet in what promises to be a tight and hard-fought clash between two of the strongest sides in the YoHealth Malta Premier.
Floriana are in excellent form, currently on a five-match winning streak and sitting joint top of the table with Valletta on 22 points, but with a game in hand. A win tonight would see them move back to the top on their own.
Reigning champions Ħamrun Spartans, meanwhile, are still trying to find the right balance between their European and domestic commitments. They dropped points in their last outing, managing only a 1-1 draw against Naxxar Lions, one of the teams near the bottom of the table.
The next few matches are crucial for the Spartans, as after facing Floriana they take on Birkirkara at the weekend before travelling to Turkey for their third Conference League match against Samsunspor.
The last meeting between the two sides ended in a goalless draw.
