Birkirkara got back to winning form in the YoHealth Malta Premier League, thanks to four goals from their latest signing, Asumah Abubakar, which gave them a 4-0 victory over Tarxien Rainbows.
Birkirkara opened the scoring midway through the first half when a cross from the left by Donovan Makoma was met by Asumah Abubakar. His effort hit the post before crossing the goal line.
Gianluca Festa’s team doubled their lead after half an hour when a free kick from the right by Marcos Maydana found Abubakar, who headed the ball in at the near post.
Birkirkara made it 3-0 just after the hour mark with a swift counter-attack started by Lucas Macula, continued with a pass from Makoma on the right, and finished neatly by Abubakar.
The Portuguese forward was unstoppable and completed his four-goal haul twenty minutes from time, once again set up by Macula, to beat Cassar for the fourth time.
