Two prominent Maltese Premier League clubs, Hibernians and Gżira United, are set for managerial changes as Branko Nisevic and Giovanni Tedesco conclude their tenures.
Branko Nisevic, who returned to Hibernians in July 2023, is preparing the team for the upcoming Meridianbet FA Trophy semi-final against Ħamrun Spartans, scheduled for 9 May 2025 . Despite the ongoing cup campaign, Nisevic’s contract is set to expire at the season’s end, and he is not expected to renew. His previous achievements include leading Hibernians to a Premier League title in the 2014–15 season and a Super Cup victory in 2015–16.
Giovanni Tedesco’s stint with Gżira United has concluded following the end of the 2024–25 Premier League season. Appointed in November 2024, Tedesco brought extensive experience from previous roles with Floriana, Birkirkara, Ħamrun Spartans, and Valletta. Under his guidance, Gżira United secured a mid-table finish, and the club is now seeking new leadership for the upcoming season.
With Nisevic’s contract concluding after the FA Trophy campaign and Tedesco’s departure, both Hibernians and Gżira United are actively searching for new head coaches to lead their squads into the next season. The departures mark the end of significant chapters for both clubs, as they aim to rebuild and achieve greater success in the future.
