VAN NISTELROOY REGRETS FOR REAL MADRID: I made a decision too quickly!

Former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward Ruud van Nistelrooy is currently the coach of Dutch PSV, and he points out leaving Madrid as the biggest mistake in his career.

In 2010, the Dutchman left the royal club after four seasons, and while guesting on the “Overlap” show with Gary Neville, Rudd talked about how it all happened.

“Manuel Pellegrini was our coach, he brought Karim Benzema, Kaka and Ronaldo and there was no place for me anymore.” I accepted it because I was 33 years old. I wanted to go to the 2010 World Cup so I decided to sign for Hamburg. I made a decision too quickly. If I look back now, I shouldn’t have left Madrid, it was the biggest mistake of my career. And it wasn’t the right time to move with the family either,” Van Nistelrooy admitted.

With Real, he won two La Liga titles and two Spanish Super Cups. However, he had the most successful period at Manchester United, scoring 150 goals in 219 matches and winning the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
