VAN DIJK WANTS A BREAK: I'm not a robot, I should have made some decisions smarter

Dutch national team member and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk believes that the large number of games this season has affected his form.

“I played too many games; my body simply broke down.” This is a pace that cannot be sustained. I returned to the field too soon after a complicated injury. “I should have taken a break before the World Cup in Qatar,” van Dijk said.

The Dutch footballer played 27 matches for Liverpool in all competitions this season.

“I didn’t take a break, because I like to play and I want to be on the field for the team as much as I can.” However, my body obviously can’t handle it. I’m not a robot. “I should have made some decisions this season smarter; I’m aware of that,” said the Dutchman.
