The 49th Ordinary UEFA Congress was held yesterday in Belgrade, Serbia, were members for positions on the UEFA Executive Committee and the FIFA Council were elected and the majority of them were more than happy to get a confirmation that they will gain from a financial personal boost.
Sources close the the Office of the General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis have confirmed to this site that the members of the Executive Committee receive a fixed compensation amount and are not eligible for a bonus. Vice-presidents receive €250,000 gross and other members receive €160,000 gross a year.
These amounts have remained unchanged since 2017. The two Executive Committee members appointed by the European Club Association (ECA) and the member appointed by the European Leagues do not receive any remuneration from UEFA.
On the other hand President Aleksander Čeferin who was re-elected as UEFA president at the Ordinary UEFA Congress in Lisbon on 5 April 2023 for a four-year term. For 2023/24, the UEFA president received fixed compensation of €3,411,325 gross. The UEFA president is not eligible for any bonus. UEFA contributes to his social charges, pension fund and accident insurance.
General secretary Theodore Theodoridis was appointed by the Executive Committee as UEFA general secretary on 15 September 2016. For 2023/24 he received fixed compensation of €1,469,000 gross. He was awarded a total bonus of €524,000. UEFA contributes to his social charges, pension fund and accident insurance, and also pays him a representation allowance and school fees for his children’s education.

Claudius Schäfer (SUI) was ratified as the European Leagues representative on the UEFA Executive Committee for a four-year term.

Constitutive UEFA Executive Committee meeting
Gabriele Gravina was appointed first UEFA vice-president, Hans-Joachim Watzke 2nd UEFA vice-president and Jesper Møller Christensen third UEFA vice-president, while Sándor Csányi was appointed UEFA Treasurer with a status of UEFA vice-president during the Constitutive UEFA Executive Committee meeting which followed the UEFA Congress.
UEFA Honorary Membership
David Gill (ENG), Karl-Erik Nilsson (SWE) and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (GER) were bestowed UEFA honorary membership for their outstanding contributions to European football.
