UEFA is preparing a revolution: Selections from South America from 2024 in the League of Nations

UEFA is preparing for a revolutionary move, and that is to form a new League of Nations in which selections from South America would also play, reports the Brazilian Globo.

Zbigniew Boniek, vice-president of UEFA and president of the Polish Football Federation, presented such a model back in December.

Teams from South America from 2024 could participate in the youngest UEFA national team competition.

“After the creation of the League of Nations, our national teams no longer play so many friendly matches. On the other hand, the big teams do not play against Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. And they tell us they’d like to play with them. That would be very good, “Ceferin said.

The coach of Brazil, Tite, said four years ago that his team has a handicap because they cannot play with the European teams more often.

By entering Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, UEFA would respond to FIFA’s plans to hold the World Cup every two years instead of every four.
