Ħamrun Spartans had to relocate their Europa League match against Maccabi Tel Aviv from the Ta’ Qali National Stadium to the Tony Bezzina Stadium, with the time remaining unchanged. The kick-off will still be at 7pm.
The change was made because the pitch at the National Stadium is not in ideal condition, as seen in recent photos, even though the YoHealth Malta Premier League is set to start in just two weeks.
This switch is likely to reduce the number of tickets available for Ħamrun supporters, as the Tony Bezzina Stadium has fewer seats. The VIP area is also smaller and more limited.
Maccabi Tel Aviv are due to arrive in Malta on Monday at 5:30 pm. Their pre-match press conference and training session at the stadium are still awaiting confirmation. The club is entitled to hold a press conference and train at 7:00 pm at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
