Tottenham is not in a great financial situation, and the closed balance sheet shows that.
In the fiscal year that ended in June 2021, Tottenham reported a total loss of 80.2 million pounds.
Thus, the total debt of the club increased to over 700 million pounds. The management of London’s team point out that the losses were caused by the pandemic, as well as by playing in front of empty stands. In the 2020 season, which was played without an audience, Tottenham earned only 1.9 million instead of the expected 94.5 million pounds.
It should also be borne in mind that the club has built a new “White Hart Lane” in north London, which is one of the most modern stadiums in the world.
- The financial results announced for the period ended on June 30, 2021, reflect the challenge of the pandemic period, which was additionally difficult for us because it coincided with the opening of the new stadium in April 2019. All the plans were thwarted, but that is really minimal damage in relation to all the losses that all people around the world had in their personal and family life – said the president of Tottenham, Daniel Levy.
Revenues from TV rights have almost doubled (from £ 95.2m to £ 184.4m), however, total earnings have dropped significantly. Levy added that the club has a secure future, no matter what.

In addition to financial problems, Tottenham also faces certain personnel problems. The players who form the backbone of the team have been together for a long time, but they have not managed to achieve the set goal, which is to win the Premier League.
The club hopes that the arrival of Antonio Conte on the bench could somewhat improve the current situation, but for something more, it is inevitable that the team will be reconstructed.
