Revamped Juve win first game of the season against Como

Juventus cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win against Como, led by Cesc Fabregas, in Thiago Motta’s debut game as manager for the Turin based side.

Samuel Mbangula, the Belgian forward, and Timothy Weah, the American winger, both found the back of the net in a dominant first half. Andrea Cambiaso sealed the victory with a stunning goal during added time.

Motta, who guided Bologna to the Champions League last season with a fourth-place finish in Serie A, took over as Juventus manager after Massimiliano Allegri’s departure in May.

Juventus is aiming to claim their first Serie A title in four years, while Como has returned to the top flight after a 21-year absence.

Fabregas, the former midfielder for Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona, has transitioned to a managerial role this season after serving as an assistant manager during Como’s promotion last season.

Mbangula, making his debut for Juventus at the age of 20, opened the scoring with a well-executed shot from outside the box.

Just before halftime, Weah doubled Juventus’ lead by converting a cross from Kenan Yildiz for his first goal of the season.
