One of the biggest sagas of this summer’s transfer window is on the verge of conclusion: only a signature now separates Galatasaray from Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker is expected to sign the contract sent by the Turkish club, marking the final step in a deal that is already verbally agreed upon a four-year contract worth between €16 and €18 million per season.
Throughout the prolonged negotiations, the real challenge for Galatasaray has been convincing Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to part ways with the forward who led the club to its historic Scudetto title. The operation was complicated by a series of financial and legal hurdles — including payment structure, bank guarantees, and several clauses, notably an “anti-Italian” clause and a resale condition.
Despite these complexities, all parties involved Napoli, Galatasaray, and Osimhen himself have always been aligned in their desire to complete the transfer. That mutual intent proved crucial in reaching a final agreement.
According to reports, the deal is structured as follows: a total fee of €80 million, with €40 million paid upfront and €35 million to be paid in two instalments over the next year, backed by a letter of credit from Galatasaray. An additional €5 million is included in performance-related bonuses. Furthermore, Napoli will retain 10% of any future resale.
In addition, a clause prevents Galatasaray from selling Osimhen to any Italian club until 2027. If violated, the Turkish club would owe Napoli a €30 million penalty.
The clubs remain in constant contact to finalise the exchange of official documentation. Galatasaray is aiming to unveil Osimhen on Friday, bringing a long-running and complex transfer saga to an official close.
