Moise Kean gives Fiorentina important three points

Fiorentina moved to within one point of the Serie A top six with a 1-0 win over Atalanta, ending the visitors’ four-game away winning run and dealing a blow to their title hopes.

The match started with good energy from both teams, but neither created much in the final third. Atalanta looked more dangerous early on, with Ademola Lookman going close, only to see his shot blocked by Luca Ranieri.

Just before half-time, Fiorentina struck. Moise Kean stole the ball from a hesitant Isak Hien at the halfway line, sprinted clear, and calmly finished into the bottom corner. It was Kean’s 23rd goal of the season across all competitions.

After the break, Fiorentina pushed for a second. Guðmundsson and Fagioli both had chances, and Kean fired over after a strong run by Dodô. Atalanta made changes and responded with pressure. Pašalić had a shot blocked, and De Ketelaere dragged an effort wide.

Despite the pressure, Fiorentina stayed firm. Ranieri almost added a second with two close chances, but Carnesecchi kept Atalanta in the game. In the end, Fiorentina didn’t allow a single shot on target and claimed a valuable win.

This result boosts Fiorentina’s hopes of European qualification, while Atalanta risk falling nine points behind leaders Inter if they win later on Sunday.
