With Juventus and Roma’s closest rivals involved in the Supercoppa Italiana this weekend, both teams have a chance to make a statement in Serie A.
Juventus moved up to fifth in the league after a 1-0 win over Bologna last Sunday. They have won five of their last six matches and only lost once in their last 11 games since the end of Igor Tudor’s spell as coach. Despite this form, they are still four points behind the top four. Juventus have been strong at home this season, winning three games in a row and remaining unbeaten in all competitions at the Allianz Stadium so far, including matches against current top-four sides.
Roma kept themselves in the title race with a 1-0 win over Como on Monday and are three points behind leaders Inter. Many of their games this season have been close, with ten of 15 league matches ending 1–0. Roma have lost only two away league games this season and have won 12 of their 17 top-flight away matches in 2025, giving them confidence for this trip.
In the last six meetings between these sides, both teams have only won once each, with four draws, and none of the games had more than two goals.
Juventus have scored almost half of their home league goals after the 75th minute, while Roma have yet to score in the final 15 minutes of away matches. Only one of Roma’s last six away games saw both teams score.
Key players include Kenan Yıldız for Juventus, who scores mainly in high-scoring games, and Roma’s Wesley França, who has scored important goals this season. Juventus will miss suspended Teun Koopmeiners, while Roma’s Evan Ndicka is away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
