Atalanta stayed unbeaten for their fifth game in a row, something they haven’t done since 2007. Juventus, who haven’t beaten Atalanta at home since 2018, fell further behind at the top of the Serie A.
Juventus started strongly, with Pierre Kalulu nearly scoring a header early on, but it just missed. Atalanta’s best chances early on came from their young player Honest Ahanor and Nikola Krstović. Juventus midfielders Andrea Cambiaso and Teun Koopmeiners were controlling the game, but Atalanta defended well, especially Berat Djimsiti and Ahanor.
In stoppage time of the first half, Atalanta took the lead when Kamaldeen Sulemana cleverly dribbled past two defenders and scored with his left foot.
The second half was more balanced. Krstović missed a good chance, while Loïs Openda looked likely to score for Juventus. Atalanta also had a few good moments but didn’t finish them.
Juventus equalised after a mistake by Atalanta’s Odilon Kossounou allowed Juan Cabal to score shortly after coming on as a substitute. Then Atalanta’s Marten de Roon was sent off, leaving his team with ten men.
In the final moments, both teams tried hard to win, but neither scored. Weston McKennie had the best chance for Juventus but missed.
This draw means Atalanta remain unbeaten in their last five league games against Juventus and have only lost once in their last twelve meetings.
