The twenty-seven-year-old striker of Borussia Dortmund, Sebastien Haller, was diagnosed with testicular cancer this summer, but he has not been operated on yet, but is trying to fight the vicious disease with therapies.
‘When I found out I had testicular cancer, the first thing I thought was that it would take me a long time to get back into shape once this was all over. In the meantime, I can freely say, I have become an expert on this disease, I know absolutely everything about it,’ said Haller, and continued:
‘For the five days that I spent in the hospital, I was constantly lying down because I was not allowed to get up while the medicine was being injected into my body. After that, there are 2 weeks of rest. This is just the first of four rounds of chemotherapy, and once I’m done with each one, we’ll see if surgery is needed or not. Many people ask me when I will return, but I really can’t give a precise answer to that question.’
