According to Sky Sports, there are talks between Chelsea and Manchester United regarding a potential transfer deal for Jadon Sancho. Chelsea has shown interest in Man Utd players, while United is eyeing Chelsea’s outcasts Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell. However, it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached before the transfer window closes.
Sancho was not included in United’s squad for their recent loss against Brighton. Despite their past conflicts, Sancho has returned to Borussia Dortmund and is now back in good terms with coach Erik ten Hag. He even played in the Community Shield match against Man City, although he missed a penalty in the shootout. United is now willing to sell Sancho for the right price, and Chelsea is currently leading the race for his signature.
The Blues have already made several attacking signings this summer, including Pedro Neto and Joao Felix, and are also looking for a No9 like Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. According to SunSport, Chelsea’s attempt to sign Osimhen is being delayed due to his high wage demands of £500,000 per week. Meanwhile, there are reports that Aston Villa is in talks with Raheem Sterling as he approaches a potential exit from Chelsea. Newcastle’s pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is also discussed, while Liverpool is close to signing Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili for £29.9m. Chelsea’s manager Enzo Maresca has sidelined Sterling and has been advised to seek other opportunities after a disappointing performance in the pre-season. Sterling is now training with a “bomb squad” of 13 players at Cobham’s academy pitches.
Chelsea is willing to offer a player to United as part of the deal for Sancho, and Sterling is one of the options being considered for the transfer. Chelsea’s left-back Ben Chilwell is also training separately from the main squad and has been linked to a move to Old Trafford. However, United may prefer Chilwell over Sterling. The Red Devils are also interested in centre-back Trevoh Chalobah, but Newcastle is also eyeing him after their failed attempts to sign Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. Apart from Chelsea, Juventus is also interested in signing Sancho as they undergo a major rebuild under new manager Thiago Motta.
