After a month of intense soccer in the Leagues Cup, Columbus Crew emerged as the champion by defeating Los Angeles FC 3-1 in the final, adding yet another trophy to their already impressive collection.
Colombian player Juan Camilo Hernández was the star of the final, scoring two goals and providing an assist, securing the joint tournament title between MLS and Liga MX for Columbus Crew and earning a spot in the 2025 Concachampions. The game-winning goal was scored by Hernández in the 90+2 minute, avoiding a penalty shoot-out, and Canadian player Jacen Russell-Rowe sealed the victory with a goal in the 90+4 minute.
This win marks Columbus Crew’s 13th trophy in the last 22 years, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in the North American league. The Leagues Cup’s previous winner, Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, was defeated by Columbus Crew in the last MLS final.
