Klopp Confirms Mohamed Salah's 100% Commitment to Liverpool Amid Transfer Speculation

Jurgen Klopp, has emphasized that Mohamed Salah’s commitment to the club remains unwavering despite fresh rumors of a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Reports suggested that Al-Ittihad, the reigning Saudi Pro League champions, were considering an audacious attempt to secure Salah’s services, including making him the world’s highest-paid player.

Salah’s contract extension until 2025 last year seemed to put an end to speculation about his future. Klopp confirmed that any potential bids for the 31-year-old would be quickly rebuffed, echoing the sentiment shared by Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, who has consistently denied rumors of an exit for his client.

Klopp addressed the media ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United, stating, “If there was something coming up… then we can think about it. But I said already, if there was something, it would be a no.”

Salah’s recent show of frustration when he was substituted in Liverpool’s opener against Chelsea prompted questions about his commitment. However, Klopp responded unequivocally, “100%,” when asked if Salah remained fully committed to the club.

Despite Salah’s Chelsea episode, he started in Liverpool’s comeback victory over Bournemouth, contributing to the team’s 3-1 win alongside Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.

Klopp provided updates on the injury front, confirming that Trent Alexander-Arnold had overcome a minor concern. However, Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones, both recovering from ankle and hip injuries, are expected to be available starting Monday. Ibrahima Konate’s availability remains uncertain due to a minor issue.

Regarding Alexis Mac Allister’s red card in the match against Bournemouth, Klopp expressed relief that Liverpool’s appeal to overturn the decision was successful. The manager highlighted the importance of distinguishing between harsh tackles that warrant punishment and instances where the punishment is not warranted, emphasizing that Mac Allister’s tackle was not deserving of a red card.

With Wataru Endo joining Liverpool from Stuttgart, the Japanese midfielder could potentially make his full Premier League debut against Newcastle United following his cameo appearance in the Bournemouth match.

Klopp’s words underscore the unity within the Liverpool camp, emphasizing Salah’s dedication to the club and the team’s ongoing determination to achieve their goals in the Premier League and beyond.
