Napoli excelled against Liverpool 3:1 in the first round of the Champions League, but remained without the team’s best player Victor Osimhen
The Nigerian striker bullied Jurgen Klopp’s squad at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Tuesday, but it cost him at least a month of games, during which coach Spalletti will not be able to count on him.
Even before the match, Osimhen complained of muscle pain, but he still took the risk and started a duel with the giant from England. He renewed the injury and therefore had to be replaced. It was determined that he has a serious muscle strain and will be out for four to six weeks.
This means that he will miss several important matches of his team in both Serie A and the Champions League. He could return to the field on October 12 at the earliest for the match against Ajax in the elite European competition.
Napoli’s attack in his absence will be led by Giovanni Simeone, who arrived in Naples this summer from Verona.
