The players of Roma were defeated by Inter in the 34th round of the Italian Serie A with a score of 0:2, and after the game the coach of Wolves, Jose Mourinho, pointed out that his team played against the best team in Italy.
Inter won 2:0 in Rome thanks to goals from Dimarco in the 33rd minute and Lukaku in the 74th minute.
With this defeat, Roma moved away from the position that leads to the Champions League, and is currently five points behind Inter.
“I simply told them that I felt incredibly proud of everything they had done. On the effort they put in, especially those who are tired, those who practically played with one leg, who played with painkillers. All those guys are capable of doing something fantastic with these fans,” Mourinho said.
The Portuguese congratulated Inter on the well-deserved victory, pointing out that his team played against the best team in Italy.
“You know me, it’s always hard for me to swallow a defeat. But I go home with a great sense of pride. We played against the best team in Italy, who are also playing in the semi-finals of the Champions League. I gave the boys a day off tomorrow,” Mourinho said.
Roma now have a match against Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals of the Europa League, where Jose Mourinho’s team will try to win a new European trophy.
