The captain of the Argentinian football team, Lionel Messi, was announced tonight as the best player in the world in the selection of the International Football Association (FIFA).
The award was presented to him at a ceremony in Paris by the first man of the organization, Gianni Infantino.
At the end of last year, Messi led Argentina to the world championship title in Qatar, and he received this award for the second time in his career.
In the selection, the Argentinian defeated his teammate from Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe, and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, who won the Ballon d’Or in the “France Football” selection a few months ago.
