The coach of the Danish football team, Kasper Hjulmand, said today that the team has many ideas on how to stop the French forward Kylian Mbappe, but that it is impossible to prepare sufficiently against a player of that caliber.
– We are not afraid. But no matter what plans you make against top players like Mbappe, you can’t prepare enough – Hjulmand told reporters ahead of the match against France at the World Cup in Qatar.
The soccer players of Denmark and France will play a game on Saturday from 17:00, and Hjulmand sees as an advantage that the captain of the national team, Simon Kjer, is playing in Milan with the French striker Olivier Giroud.
– Simon knows him well. We talked about the details and I hope it can be useful… It’s a pleasure to see strikers of his age using their experience to improve – to stay calm, running in the penalty area. Giroud shows us that he is probably better than he has ever been – said the coach.
Hjulmand added that midfielder Christian Eriksen, who returned to the highest level after a heart attack during a match during the European Championship last year, will be available for the match with the French.
Denmark played a goalless draw with Tunisia in the first round of Group D at the World Cup, while France beat Australia 4-1.
