Legendary German, former Bayern captain, Lothar Matthäus has found a suitable replacement for Thomas Tuchel, who is leaving Bayern at the end of the season.
Due to poor results this season, Bayern’s management and the current coach have agreed to terminate their cooperation at the end of the season. For this reason, the Munich club is looking for a coach who would be the ideal solution for the club.
Several high-profile coaching names have been mentioned for this position, such as Xabi Alonso, Zinedine Zidane, Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho, Sebastian Hoeness, Hansi Flick, and Unai Emery. In the end, the German national team coach Nagelsmann, whom Tuchel succeeded, was also mentioned.
However, Lothar Matthäus sees Sebastian Hoeness as the ideal successor to Thomas Tuchel because he has done an excellent job with Stuttgart. Hoeness has previously worked at Bayern with the youth teams.
Lothar Matthäus explained why Hoeness would be the right choice: “The coach I believe could take over at Bayern is Hoeness. He should get support from the club, and his name speaks for itself. Hoeness has the Bayern gene and has done a good job as the coach of their second team. Regardless of not achieving great success, everything he’s doing at Stuttgart is very good, and he’s close to taking that team to the Champions League.”
Hoeness has been the coach of Stuttgart since April 2023. Sebastian is the son of former Bayern Munich legend Dieter Hoeness.
