The Malta FA and the national team fan-base group South End Core have signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering the home matches of the Men’s National A Team matches over a period of one year.
The agreement recognises the South End Core as the official fan group of all national team selections and will see the Malta FA assisting in the promotional build-up to the home matches, also facilitating the setting-up of fan choreographies for an ultimate fan-experience at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali.
For away matches, the SEC will be the official ticket supplier on behalf of the Malta FA. A Supporters Liaison Officer will also be appointed by the Association to ensure full backing for the SEC who will be doing their utmost to support men’s and women’s national team selections across the various age-groups.
Speaking after the signing of this agreement, Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo said: “We are really happy to have concluded this agreement through which the Association will assist the South End Core many ways.
“We consider this MOU as a very positive step as there is a mutual willingness to strengthen this collaboration in stepping up support for both our men’s and women’s national teams during international matches.
“We look forward to a thrilling atmosphere during the national team’s matches and invite our supporters to also attend away matches during the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign. We have a competitive team and everyone is eager to support our boys in red with pride.”
On behalf of SEC, veteran stalwart Louis Agius commented: “We are delighted to work alongside the Malta FA to support our national teams in the best way possible. Everyone should come and join the SEC for the first qualifier and enjoy the stadium atmosphere created by the home supporters.”
