Birkirkara FC have bolstered their squad by signing Ghanaian winger Seth Paintsil for the remainder of the season. Paintsil, who was without a club since parting ways with Ħamrun Spartans last summer, is eligible to feature in Birkirkara’s upcoming match on Saturday, 7th December.
The addition of Paintsil comes as Birkirkara aims to strengthen their position at the top of the league standings. Despite leading the table comfortably during the initial phase of the Opening Round, recent matches have seen their advantage narrow to just two points. The club is determined to maintain their lead in the final three games of this phase.
Paintsil arrived in Malta in the summer of 2023, joining Ħamrun Spartans from Austria’s TSV Hartberg. His discussions with Birkirkara had been ongoing for several days, culminating in an agreement finalized more than 48 hours before the upcoming fixture against the Wanderers.
Head coach Stefano De Angelis is well-acquainted with Paintsil’s abilities, having previously worked with him during his tenure with Ħamrun Spartans. The club is optimistic that Paintsil’s experience and skill set will contribute positively to their campaign as they strive to solidify their lead in the league
