Hamilton to make his final appearance for Mercedes this Sunday

Lewis Hamilton is set to make his final appearance for Mercedes at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this Sunday, concluding a remarkable 11-year partnership that yielded six World Championships and 84 race victories.

The Yas Marina Circuit, a venue of both triumph and heartbreak for Hamilton, will serve as the backdrop for this significant transition as he prepares to join Ferrari for the 2025 season.

Reflecting on his tenure with Mercedes, Hamilton described the year as “one of the worst” in managing emotions, acknowledging the challenges that accompanied his decision to move to Ferrari. Despite these difficulties, he expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments and the enduring relationships formed over the years.

In tribute to Hamilton’s contributions, Mercedes has planned a special farewell, offering 150 fans the opportunity to have their names featured on his car during the final race. This gesture underscores the deep connection between Hamilton, the team, and their supporters.

As Hamilton bids farewell to Mercedes, the Constructors’ Championship remains undecided, with McLaren holding a 21-point lead over Ferrari heading into the final race. McLaren aims to secure their first Constructors’ title since 1998, while Ferrari seeks to end a 16-year drought, having last won in 2008. The outcome at Yas Marina will determine which team breaks the 15-year dominance of Red Bull and Mercedes in the Constructors’ standings.

Hamilton’s final race with Mercedes not only marks the end of a historic era but also sets the stage for a new chapter in his illustrious career as he embarks on his journey with Ferrari.
