Malta FA hosts open training session with Richmond Foundation as part of 125th anniversary celebrations

As part of its 125th anniversary celebrations, the Malta Football Association (Malta FA) hosted a special open training session on Wednesday morning in collaboration with Richmond Foundation, underscoring its ongoing commitment to community engagement and mental wellbeing.

Held at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali, the event welcomed clients and staff from Richmond Foundation, a leading NGO dedicated to promoting mental health and providing support services across the Maltese Islands.

Participants took to the pitch for an energetic training session, celebrating their shared love for football in an uplifting and inclusive atmosphere.

Following the session, Malta FA Deputy General Secretary Rodney Pisani presented a commemorative Malta FA 125th anniversary pennant to Tracey Zammit, Head of Therapeutic Services and Programmes at Richmond Foundation, as a token of appreciation for the organisation’s invaluable work in the field of mental health.

The morning continued with a guided tour of the Malta FA Museum of Football at the Millennium Stand, where guests explored the country’s rich football heritage.

The event concluded with a special lunch at the National Stadium’s VIP Lounge, where attendees were served by inmates from Corradino Correctional Facility, a unique gesture reflecting the Association’s inclusive values and commitment to rehabilitation.
