Luke Montebello BOV player of the Month

Hamrun’s Luke Montebello is the BOV Player of the Month for February 2024. Montebello is having a dream season leading the BOV Premier League’s scorers list and winning the individual award for the third time this season and the fourth in his career.

The Spartans’ forward continued to cement his position as the BOV Premier League’s top striker with his 15^th goal of the season in Hamrun’s 4-0 win over Gudja. Receiving a through-ball from Elionay Freitas, Montebello deftly dribbled past two defenders and fired a low drive into the far post for Hamrun’s opener.

The Malta international was again on target in Hamrun’s 2-0 win over Sirens, receiving from Steve Borg and tapping home Hamrun’s second goal from close range while earlier in the game providing the assist to Jonny for his team’s opener.

Montebello added another trophy to his cabinet which he received from Silvio Cassar, Manager at Bank of Valletta. The donation by Bank of Valletta to a charity of the player’s choice went to ‘Ħamrun Ħanin.’
