Holders Valletta St Paul's favourites to advance to KO semifinals

Holders Valletta St Paul’s are favourites to advance to the final four of the Next Auto Car Sales Ltd MAFA KO as they face Żebbuġ Youngsters at the Qormi Ground.

The Citizens are in high spirits after winning the MAFA First Division but they are adamant not to take this encounter for granted.

Żebbuġ Youngsters managed to survive to their second division status after a goalless draw against Buġibba Club de SWAT and know that the match against the new first division champions will be a difficult task. Moreover they are facing this match with no pressure at all, ready to play their typical game.

The Youngsters will pay special attention to league’s top scorer Elton da Silva who could be a menace to their rearguard.

Elsewhere a very interesting match is expected between San Ġiljan Saints and San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy. Both clubs had their ups and downs during this season but managed to finish in a good position in the table.

In their previous matches in the MAFA First Division, San Ġiljan Saints won 5-3 and 1-0 against the French side.

Second Division champions Għaxaq Wolves want to maintain their stay in this competition as they face Ta’ Ġiorni Wanderers.

The Wolves have the necessary material to impress in this cup with their main aim is to qualify for the final.

The Wanderers were disappointed not to get the promotion to the top flight as although they had equal points like Mqabba, they lost on direct clashes.

In the second division league, Għaxaq Wolves prevailed twice against the Wanderers 2-0 and 3-0.

Senglea Gunners are favourites to advance to the semifinals as they meet Buġibba Club de SWAT.

Both clubs had their disappointments as they were both relegated to a lower division. Senglea Gunners were relegated to the second division while Buġibba Club de SWAT had to return to third division.

The Gunners want to do well in this competition to make amends of this disappointing season but they have to be aware of Buġibba’s potential who have no pressure at all for this match.
