Valletta suffered the first goal and the first defeat of the season as they lost against Tarxien who were completely transformed compared to the previous match when they were defeated by Pieta.

A goal scored by Claudio Murici in the 65th minute allowed Tarxien Rainbows to secure a 1-0 victory against the league leaders, Valletta, during the BOV Challenge League match at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday. This defeat marked Valletta’s first loss after winning their first four matches, and now they are tied at the top with Pieta’ Hotspurs, who are two points ahead of Swieqi and Tarxien. In another match at the Centenary Stadium, Pieta’ defeated Fgura United 2-1. Daneel Abela opened the scoring for the Hotspurs in the 17th minute, and despite Haytham Abdelghani equalizing in the 60th minute, William Fernandes secured the victory for Pieta’ in the 73rd minute.

Zurrieq climbed to fourth place in the standings thanks to a narrow victory over Zebbug Rangers at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, with Sebastian Grech finding the back of the net in the 12th minute.

In a different match, Santa Lucia and Gudja United played out a goalless draw, resulting in a shared point for both teams.

Valletta and Pieta’ are currently leading the league with 12 points each, followed by Swieqi and Tarxien with 10 points. Marsa and Zurrieq have 9 points, while Mgarr and Gudja have 7. Fgura has 6 points, St. Andrews, Sirens, and Senglea have 5 points each. Zebbug has accumulated 4 points, Lija and Santa Lucia have 1 point each, and Mtarfa remains at 0 points.
