Tarxien Rainbows emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Marsa at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in one of the four matches scheduled for Saturday’s BOV Challenge League. James Brincat opened the scoring for Tarxien in the 62nd minute, and although Aslen Kevin equalized in the 66th minute, Manji Williams sealed the victory with a goal five minutes before full time.

Swieqi United staged an impressive comeback after being two goals down to secure a 3-2 victory against Santa Lucia at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Azriel Borg gave Santa Lucia the lead in the 3rd minute, and an own goal early in the second half extended their advantage. However, Swieqi responded strongly, with Alan Abdel Rahman scoring twice in the 51st and 63rd minutes, and Collins Gyamfi completing the comeback with a goal in the 72nd minute.

Sirens triumphed over Gudja United with a 2-1 win at the Centenary Stadium. Hafiz Mohammed Akadom opened the scoring for Sirens in the 5th minute, and Gilberto Carrara doubled their lead in the 25th minute. Gudja managed to pull one back through a Diego penalty in the 90th minute as a consolation goal.

Zebbug Rangers and Mgarr United played out a 1-1 draw in another match at the Centenary Stadium. Jurgen Suda scored for Mgarr in the 23rd minute, while Duvan Mosquera found the back of the net for Zebbug in the 43rd minute, resulting in a shared spoils.

Tarxien and Swieqi are currently at the top of the standings with 6 points each. They are closely followed by Marsa, Valletta, Pieta’, St. Andrews, Gudja, and Sirens, all with 3 points. Zebbug has accumulated 2 points, while Senglea and Mgarr have 1 point each. Lija, Zurrieq, Fgura, Mtarfa, and Santa Lucia are yet to secure any points in the competition.
