Ryan Fenech, who last featured as a player for Marsa FC during the 2022/23 season before officially retiring to pursue a coaching career, is now on the brink of returning to the club—this time as Head Coach after a short spell as an assistant coach.
During his distinguished playing career, Fenech represented several top-flight Maltese clubs, including Ħamrun Spartans, Sliema Wanderers, Valletta FC, Balzan FC, and Birkirkara FC, leaving a significant mark in the Maltese Premier League.
Should he accept the offer currently on the table, Fenech is expected to sign a two-year contract with Marsa FC. He currently holds a UEFA B coaching license and is set to begin his UEFA A coaching course at the start of the 2025/26 season, further advancing his qualifications in the technical area.
Meanwhile, outgoing Marsa coach Saviour Debono Grech is actively considering multiple offers for the upcoming 2025/26 season, with interest reportedly coming from both Challenge League and Premier League clubs.
