Birkirkara appoint Stefano De Angelis as the new first-team coach

Birkirkara FC has announced the appointment of Stefano De Angelis as their new head coach.

The team has been searching for a replacement since parting ways with Jose Borg at the end of the season. In a statement, the Premier League club expressed their excitement in welcoming Mr. De Angelis as their new head coach. After a thorough selection process, De Angelis emerged as the perfect candidate to lead the team into a promising new phase. Birkirkara has been actively searching the market for the past few weeks to find the right person to spearhead a new technical project at the club. Their choice ultimately fell on Italian coach De Angelis, who has been involved in Maltese football for several years.

He served as an assistant coach at Ħamrun Spartans for the past two seasons, working alongside Branko Nisevic and Luciano Zauri. During this time, De Angelis played a significant role in helping the team secure the Premier League title. However, last month, it was announced that Zauri would not be extending his contract with the Spartans, leading to the appointment of Alessandro Zinnari as their new first-team coach.

Zinnari reached an agreement with the top leaders of the Spartans to bring his team of experts, resulting in the Maltese champions being forced to sever ties with De Angelis and the rest of the coaching staff.

Shortly after, Birkirkara approached De Angelis and proposed a contract, which the Italian coach willingly accepted, embracing this fresh opportunity.
