Maksimovic after 9 years again at Marakana

Serbian defender Nikola Maksimovic could soon wear the jersey of Red Star, as reported by Italian journalists.

Namely, the Serbian footballer broke off his cooperation with Genoa even though he had signed a contract with them until 2025 and left the Italian championship, and these statements were reported by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

This news is not so new, because sports director Mitar Mrkela had previously made a statement regarding his return to the red and whites, and said that negotiations are ongoing.

“Nikola Maksimovic is a great player, who has gained a great name in Europe and as such is always interesting to Red Star, as someone who could improve the game of Red Star. At this moment, we are not close to an agreement, and we will see what will happen in the coming days” – Mrkela said a few days ago.

Maksimovic previously wore the Red Star jersey in 2012, when he left the ranks of Sloboda Uzice for 300,000 euros and stayed at the Marakana club for a year.

After leaving Red Star, he went to Turin, he also played for Napoli and was on loan at Spartak from Moscow, and in 2021 he arrived in Genoa.
