Liverpool are on the way to strengthen their options in attack before the January transfer window closes with a victory in the race to sign Porto winger Luis Diaz.
Diaz was on the radar of many top European clubs, and Tottenham did their best to finish the job for the 25-year-old Colombian national team player before Monday.
But Liverpool, with whom the Porto striker met twice in the Champions League this season, overtook the London club and is believed to have agreed on the transfer of the Colombian today, and the compensation to the Portuguese runner-up will be 45 million euros plus 20 million in bonuses.
Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah will turn 30 this summer and will enter the last 12 months of their contracts unless there is progress in the negotiations by then.
Luis Diaz arrived in Porto in 2919, for which he scored 61 goals and 26 assists in 211 games.
