Joel Matip, a Cameroon football player, was injured already in the 20th minute against Fulham and most likely ended his season.
Jurgen Klopp, Reds coach, says that the club will show class over the injured defender.
The 32-year-old has a contract with Liverpool until June next year, and the coach hints at an extension of his contract and casts doubt on January signings!
Klopp said that the club will ‘show their class‘ over Matip’s injury, which could mean that the footballer did not play his last game for Liverpool.
Last Sunday, the Reds played an interesting match against Fulham where they won 4:3, and Matip had to be replaced in the 20th minute due to injury. Scans later showed that he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
This means that the season is over for him. Will he sign a new deal? It remains to be seen!
