Arsenal and Liverpool slip up with Manchester City leading in Premier League

Manchester City were handed a big fillip in their quest for an unprecedented fourth Premier League title when challengers Liverpool and Arsenal both lost at home against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa respectively. City routed relegation threatened Luton by five goals to one to open a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool suffered their second defeat at home in four days when they went down to an Eberichi Eze goal at Anfield. Although the Reds had a myriad of opportunities, they simply could not find the net and have now fallen behind in their quest for a final league title under Jurgen Klopp.

Arsenal also suffered a severe setback in their hopes for a first title in 20 years when they went down 2-0 at the Emirates against a rejuvenated Aston Villa. Leon Bailey and the lethal Ollie Watkins scored both Villa goals in the final minutes of the match.
