Guardiola: Why is it not obligatory to wear a mask in stadiums?

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola pointed out concerns about the coronavirus, the condition, and also the fact that fans are in danger because wearing a mask is not mandatory in stadiums.
The Premier League is facing a number of problems due to the crown virus, many matches have been postponed, and footballers are angry about the tight schedule.

As a reminder, as of December 12, as many as 12 games have been postponed in the Premier League.

  • I would not like us to be in a situation to play in front of empty stands again. You can’t even imagine how different it is when people are there. But the crisis is growing worldwide, not just in the UK and not just among footballers. People who come to stadiums can easily endanger each other because wearing a mask is not obligatory in stadiums, Guardiola said!
  • And that surprises me quite a bit. You go out, go to the big malls where people buy presents for their families and no one wears a mask. From the very beginning, scientists and doctors emphasize that the best protection is to wear a mask and disinfect your hands.
  • In Spain, it will no longer be mandatory to wear a mask only indoors, but also outdoors. You will have to wear a mask on the street. We should go back to that. We know that fans should be vaccinated, and receive a booster dose if recommended, but in addition to that, with hand disinfection, we must return to keeping our distance and wearing masks. That way, the restaurants will be able to stay open, we will be able to continue playing football. We have to try, otherwise new restrictions and bans could come. Again and again, Guardiola concluded.
