Guardiola: I know how important the Champions League is

Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, stated that it will not be easy for his team to surpass last year’s result in the Champions League this season.
“It will not be easy to be better than last season, but we are excited and happy to be in this phase of the competition again. I know how important the Champions League is, we can’t dispute that, but we take every Premier League game seriously, you saw how we behaved in the duel against Norwich, it’s the best proof that we do it in every game, not only in the Premier League,” said Guardiola.

Manchester City will meet Sporting in Lisbon on Tuesday at 9 pm, where the first game of the round of 16 will take place.

The city’s most expensive player Jack Grealish will miss the match due to injury.

Grealish has problems with his lower leg, an injury he suffered last season while playing for Aston Villa.

Guardiola said the injury was not serious.

“He is better, but he is not available for tomorrow’s game, together with Colo Palmer and Gabriel Jesus,” he stated.
