Djokovic: I will not take vaccine, even if it means that I cannot perform at Grand Slams

Novak Djokovic, a Serbian tennis player who marked the world of sports in January, said in an interview with the BBC that he would never be vaccinated against coronavirus.
When asked what it would mean if he missed all the Grand Slams because of such a decision, Djokovic answered:

“Yes, that’s the price I’m willing to pay.”

On the other hand, the Serbian tennis player reiterated that he is not against vaccinations.

“I have never been against vaccines, I was vaccinated as a boy, but I have always supported the freedom to decide for ourselves what to put in our body. For me, the principles and the right to decide what I will bring into my body are much more important than any title or anything else that brings results. I try to be in harmony with my body as much as possible “, said Djokovic.

Due to his attitude, he was deported from Australia and could not play in the GS tournament, where Rafa Nadal used his chance and reached a record 21st GS in his career.

Alex Hawke, the immigration minister, deported him on the grounds that he was “dangerous to the public health of the nation.”

“I was really disappointed and sad the way it all ended for me. The error in the visa documents was not intentional. This was accepted and confirmed by the federal court and the Minister of Immigration himself. I have not been deported from Australia on the grounds that I have not been vaccinated or have broken any rules. All of this is actually approved.

“The reason why I was deported from Australia is that the Minister of Immigration used his discretion to cancel my visa based on the perception that I could create some anti-vaccination feeling in the country or city, which I completely disagree with,” Djokovic concluded.
