French football player Antoine Griezmann apologized to the fans of Atletico Madrid because he joined Barcelona in 2019.
Griezmann defended the colors of “Mattress Makers” from 2014 to 2019, and then he strengthened the team from Catalonia.
Last season, the Frenchman played for Atletico as a loan player from Barca, and a few days ago the team from Madrid bought his contract.
– I missed a penalty in Bruges, and then I had a lot of opportunities in the second leg. I wanted to score, I really wanted to help the team. The fact that I couldn’t be a starter at the beginning of the season was frustrating. I tried to help the team, either as a substitute or as a starter. I will be happy, because the children will ask me if I scored a goal or not, and I can tell them that I did – said Griezmann.
He pointed out that he believes that AtlƩtico will achieve good results in the rest of the season.
– I am very proud to have signed the contract. I apologize for leaving the club because I understand how much it hurt the fans. I apologize to them for the harm I caused everyone with that move. I will beg for forgiveness on the pitch where I will show everyone how much this club means to me. We are on the right path – said Griezmann.
