The players of Bayer Leverkusen were eliminated in the first round of the German Cup after losing away to the third division team Elversberg.

Elversberg took the lead in the second minute with a goal by Rochelt, and already in the fifth, Leverkusen equalized with a goal by Hlozek.
Koffi scored a penalty for the home team in the 17th minute, and Aranguiz scored the second equalizer for Leverkusen at the end of the first half hour of the game.
