Bayer Leverkusen football player Patrick Schick has extended his contract until 2027 today.

Schick has scored 24 goals in 27 games this season, and Bayer finished the Bundesliga season in third place in the table.

The old contract of the Czech striker would expire in 2025, but the club’s management wanted to continue the cooperation, since some clubs from the Premier League were interested in Schick.

– I have extended my contract until 2027, I am really happy to be able to continue playing for Bayer – said Schick.

Bayern’s sports director Simon Rolfes said that “the decision to continue cooperation with the first-class striker is a message about the club’s ambitions”.

Schick played 33 games and scored 17 goals for the Czech national team, including five goals at the European Championship last summer. He was the top scorer of the tournament together with the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

He also received the award for the best goal in that competition, when he scored from the middle of the field in the game against Scotland.
