Galatasaray SK reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 12 years despite losing 3-2 after extra time to Juventus in the second leg. The aggregate score of 7-5 saw a 10-man Juventus side eliminated from the competition.
Juventus, trailing by three goals from the first leg, began the match at high intensity. Both sides created early chances, with Davinson Sánchez heading narrowly wide before Federico Gatti missed a close-range header. Teun Koopmeiners also failed to convert, while Mattia Perin saved an effort from Victor Osimhen. Kenan Yıldız went close for Galatasaray, with Uğurcan Çakır making a crucial save to keep the Turkish side in control.
Juventus scored in the 36th minute from a penalty awarded when Khéphren Thuram was fouled by Lucas Torreira. Captain Manuel Locatelli converted to reduce the aggregate deficit. However, three minutes after the interval, Lloyd Kelly received a red card for a reckless challenge, leaving Juventus with ten men.

Galatasaray maintained pressure and created further opportunities. Gatti scored in the 70th minute, and Weston McKennie equalised on aggregate in the 82nd minute, forcing extra time. Both teams had chances in the first period of extra time, including Edon Zhegrova firing wide for Juventus.
Galatasaray regained the lead before the half of extra time through Victor Osimhen, who scored his seventh UCL goal of the season. The Turkish side sealed the tie in the closing stages with Baris Alper Yilmaz scoring on a breakaway.
The victory sends Galatasaray into the UCL last 16, where they will face either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur, pending Friday’s draw. Juventus now turn their focus to Serie A, beginning with a trip to AS Roma on Sunday.
