ROONEY REJECTS INVITATION TO EVERTON: I have a job in Derby that is important to me

Everton replaced Rafa Benitez two weeks ago after the Caramels lost to Norwich (2:1), which was their 11th in the season.

The club’s management is then looking for a new coach, Frank Lampard, Antonio Oliveira, Jose Mourinho is mentioned, and today Wayne Rooney, who wears the Everton jersey as a player, revealed that he received an invitation from his former club.

– Everton turned to my agent and they asked us to talk about business. I turned them down. I believe that I will be the Premier League manager and I am completely ready for that. But I have a job in the Derby that is important to me – concluded the former Manchester United striker.

Rooney took over Derby County in January 2021, when the team was in a serious decline in form, and since then it has managed to save them from relegation from the Championship, in which they are currently 19th in the table.

Everton holds the 16th position in the Premier League with 19 points and is only four points above Newcastle, which is first below the relegation zone.
