West Ham United have completed the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo, a centre back from Ligue 1 club Nice.
The French defender joins the Premier League team on an initial season-long loan, with the option to make the transfer permanent in summer 2025, as announced by the club on Saturday.
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed by either party, but according to reports from British media, the buy option is valued at approximately 40 million euros.
Todibo, who is 24 years old and has earned two caps for the French national team, began his career at Toulouse before making a move to LaLiga outfit Barcelona in 2019. Following his switch in 2021, he went on to make 136 appearances for Nice.
Under the guidance of their new manager Julen Lopetegui, West Ham, who finished ninth in the previous season, will kickstart their Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa on August 17th.
