Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min may not be at the club much longer. With the new season just weeks away, there’s growing uncertainty over whether the 33-year-old will stay.
New manager Thomas Frank couldn’t give a clear answer about Son’s long-term future during his press conference on Friday. While Spurs aren’t openly trying to sell Son, they also aren’t fully committed to keeping him.
Behind the scenes, the club has let Son know that if a good offer comes in, they won’t block a move. This summer could be his last chance to bring in a big transfer fee, as he only has one year left on his contract.
Despite being hugely popular, especially in Asia, Son is no longer seen as a key part of Tottenham’s plans. The club has already signed new attacking players like Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich and Mohammed Kudus from West Ham. They’re also interested in Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
Son is still set to join the team’s upcoming tour of Asia, including games against Arsenal in Hong Kong and Newcastle in Seoul, which are important commercially for the club. His presence helps sell tickets and promote Spurs abroad, so dropping him could cause problems with organisers.

Still, three clubs in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr, and Al-Qadsiah, are reportedly ready to pay over £30 million for him. There’s also interest from Major League Soccer (LAFC) and from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
Son will travel with the squad, but after that, things are uncertain. After years of great moments in a Spurs shirt, this could be his final chapter with the club.
