THE ENGLISH BRAG IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE WORLD: Most of the players in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar play in the Premier League!

With another 62 footballers in Qatar, playing for 14 clubs, the English Premier League is the most-represented championship among the eight World Cup quarter-finalists.

Despite Spain’s surprise elimination in the round of 16 against Morocco, Primera is the second most represented league with 30 players from eight clubs.

Although Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, their Serie A ranks third with 23 players playing for nine different clubs.

Next comes League 1 (18 players, eight clubs), with a lot of help from Paris Saint-Germain, then the Bundesliga (17 players, eight clubs) and finally the Dutch championship (11 players, three clubs), in which many Dutch national team members play.

At the club level, two Manchesters, City and United, are in the lead, having the largest number of players present in Qatar – 11 each. PSG and Ajax are in third place with seven players each.
