Eddie Howe was officially introduced as the new head coach of Newcastle with a fantastic reception from the fans.
On the first working day, the English expert was seen coming to the training center at seven in the morning, which shows how much commitment Howe has to his new job.
Upon his arrival at the club, the new coach did not hide that the way the fans welcomed him meant a lot. He presented his first impressions at a press conference.
- I had a really good first day at the club, I enjoyed it. I look forward to what follows. I am honored that they asked me to become the manager of Newcastle, a rich history, tradition, and huge fan base. I feel really privileged to be here, and I am very grateful for the opportunity. I will treat the club as if it were my family, and I will do my best for the joy of the fans – Eddie Howe pointed out.
Eddie Howe is absolutely aware of what awaits him, and working under pressure is something very close to him. He also hinted that there would be some changes in the game, but that he doesn’t have a magic wand so it would take time and work both for him and the Newcastle players to turn things around.
- I think that in time you will see positive changes in our game. I want us to play football that is fun and exciting. I think that’s the way Newcastle fans want to see. We have a difficult task and a great challenge ahead of us. We do not live in illusions. We are aware that a difficult schedule awaits us, especially in December. We will go from game to game and just look ahead. No one has a magic wand. It will take a lot of hard work to instill in the players what we want as soon as possible – Eddie Howe concluded.
What do you expect from Newcastle in the coming period? Can the new head coach bring the desired changes and keep the team in the Premier League?
